1.1. Food Tracking

1.2. Water Intake

The recommended amount of daily water intake is 30 ml per 1 kg of a human weight. It is applicable to people whose body mass index is within the normal range of 18.5 to 25. Overweight is formed mainly by adipose tissue, which contains up to 30% of water. So, if your BMI is still above 25, we calculate that you need 10 ml of water (not 30 ml) for every extra kilogram.

1.3. Food Recommendations

    2. Meal Tracking Methodology
    3. Portions Recommendations
The portion recommendation is calculated depending on the user's daily calorie intake.

Step 1 - calculate RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate).
To calculate RMR we use the Mifflin-St. Jeor Equation. RMR depends on the user's actual weight, height, age, sex and activity level and shows the calorie intake required for healthy living and maintaining a healthy weight.

To achieve the goal of losing weight users need to ensure calorie deficit. The recommended pace of losing weight depends on individual energy requirements. For weight loss, we recommend a slow and steady pace that works over a longer period of time with a maximum of 15-20% calorie deficit per week.

To calculate the exact number of portions depending on the user's calorie intake recommendation we use the following table:
The number of portions depending on calorie intake
      4. Water Intake Recommendations
We use the following formula for calculating the recommended amount of water per day:

      30 ml * 1 kg of the user's actual weight / 250 ml (a standard glass)

      5. Normal Weight Recommendations
During the process of registration, users can see a recommendation on their normal weight range.
This recommendation is based on BMI (Body Mass Index), which is a calculation of body weight in relation to height.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) regards a healthy adult BMI to be between 18.5 and 25, so we calculate the minimum and maximum weight a user should have to fit in this range.
